Nikon Begins Acquisition of Partner Avonix Imaging
Nikon intends to acquire all shares of Avonix in summer 2023, following the clearance of the acquisition by relevant regulatory authorities and other closing conditions.
Nikon Corporation has announced that its U.S. subsidiary, Nikon Americas Inc., has executed an equity purchase agreement with Avonix Imaging LLC, which manufactures, sells and services X-ray and CT systems. Nikon has plans to acquire Avonix as its subsidiary, subject to applicable regulatory clearances and customary closing conditions. Nikon is anticipated to acquire all shares of Avonix in summer 2023, following the clearance of the acquisition by relevant regulatory authorities and other closing conditions.
Since 2015, Nikon and Avonix have worked together in joint development, sales and provision of services relating to CT systems for large-scale inspection, which are one of the lines of products by Nikon Metrology. Nikon and Avonix plan to further develop new products and enhance their businesses with Avonix’s customer base in the automotive and aerospace fields.
Nikon says it has positioned digital manufacturing business as its key strategic business through 2025. Nikon aims to provide X-ray and CT inspection solutions to various inspection and measurement needs and challenges at manufacturing sites.
